it was a crazy week with the first exam and first assignment due within two days of each other. but there was light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a weekend getaway to the country. much as i am a city person at heart, the countryside has really grown on me since i got to the uk. spending my first week here in solitude (omm...) in the country house was probably the most relaxed i've been all year. so i jumped at a chance at a repeat visit, and braved the overground train for two nights of peace and quiet.
L was waiting at the station and i couldn't have been happier to see her after two month of solo living. she's an angel and when i'm with her, she literally takes care of everything. she made it her personal mission to feed me like one would an ill-fated foie gras goose and when i left on sunday, i practically rolled outta the driveway.
so here's to friends who very kindly decompress me, and to waking up to this killer view every morning :)
