and then it turns into slush. 

suffered the ignominy of spotted wellies while walking to the GP practice as my trusty leather boots gave up the ghost at the first snowflake. maybe not so trusty after all! so off i went through the frozen moor with wool work trousers unceremoniously stuffed into my gum boots. of course, still managed to trip and fall flat on my face on the footpath. that'll teach me to googlemap my way while walking because clearly, multitasking on an icy road is asking for trouble.
