driving to the beach to link up with the others

could almost pass off as the maldives

sunrise 10 minutes after sun set. 

you literally see the sun ricochet off the horizon like a ping pong ball!

we'd the tasting menu at our hotel before descending on our friends at the next beach for indomee. some times only instant noodles hit the spot. the sky was beautiful and the weather inviting as we sat on the beach nursing a good red. we befriended a geologist from durham (!) and bonded as the sun set and then rose again.

chips & cheese

oh where have you been my whole life? :)

i used to turn to maggi goreng after a night out but it looks like my supper monogamy is being threatened by this new discovery. chips & cheese are a genius combo, and even better when doused in ketchup and a generous sprinkling of salt. who cares if it's atherosclerosis on a platter, or styrofoam box in this case. 

as J blithely put when we shamefacedly omnomnom-ed them chippies, "it's not like we're medical students, or something." so truly, it's just these few precious weeks to go where ignorance is bliss, before our first cadaver tomorrow, before we learn about about cardiovascular disease, nutrition and metabolism. 

after all, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
