it's a cheap (ok, £15/month) thrill to hang out in the doctors' mess and even better to have the run of two because i'm across the road at another hospital for my first job. in the main mess, there's unlimited tea, coffee, toast, spreads and cereal so i often have lunch then supplement it with toast and endless cups of tea. because i'm classy that way ;) during olympic season (a distant memory by now!) i was glued to the swimming and even though it was re-runs it was so good to watch. brought back memories of when i used to compete, although so far from that level, and it's a part of my life i now look back on with fondness.
and then one day i got tired of waiting for the bus i usually take and tried an alternative route that a cute sloane ranger neighbour / co-worker had clued me into. but then it passed a vietnamese cafe and i got distracted by pho. ended up getting home even later than if i'd just waited for the usual bus :P
