what i love about the neighbourhood japanese is that no reservation is needed, even for a friday night. then one day its popularity exploded and i was told there was only counter seating for walk-ins. not that i minded, really, because i'd choose the counter any day to watch the chefs at work. win-win.
always skeptical about the fish of the day , convinced its a marketing ploy to get me to pay good money for their borderline fishy on the brink of going off, but the scorpion fish "head to tail" was divine. i try not to convert to sgd because it makes me hear my mother-in-law's shock and disdain.
